In Poland, the making of ornaments with straw dates back to the time when the only available materials for decorations were those that were found on the farm. During the beginning of the Christmas season, village folk would decorate homes creatively and ornately using straw, paper, yarn, and cloth ornaments. This set of ornaments are based on traditional Polish straw ornaments held together by string (mostly red or gold colored) and ribbon for bows.

These ornaments are very different from the majority of modern Christmas decorations, and are a unique addition to any Christmas Tree. Ornament designs include star/snowflake motifs, angel figurines, mini tree shapes, goat shapes, icicle shapes, and tree nut shapes.
