"Czesław Czapliński's album discloses to us treasures that have long been kept hidden. Accumulated over years, these collections have until now gladdened the eyes of the collectors and their close circles only. Thanks to the author's passion and persistent efforts we can feel almost like discoverers of terra incognita. At the same time we should be aware that we are experiencing a unique initiation by being ushered into the collectors' intimate worlds. Frequently tangled and knotty, the fortunes of people and institutions loom in the background of the collections. This publication has one more effect that cannot be overestimated: it changes the stereotypical image of a Pole in America, who no longer dreams of a better life on the other side of the Atlantic, but actually and beautifully lives one."
~ FERDYNAND B. RUSZCZYC, Director National Museum in Warsaw

"Czesław Czapliński traced painstakingly Polish art collections across the U.S.A. To the astonishment of many of his compatriots, he proved that works demonstrating outstanding value and greatly enhancing our awareness of Polish artistic heritage could be found overseas too. All credit to the author for that."
~ PROF. MAREK KWIATKOWSKI, Director Royal Łazienki Museum, Warsaw

"Czesław Czapliński created this album to promote the beautiful idea of collecting art. This fact has already been appreciated in his nomination for the 2006 Jerzy Dunin-Borkowski Award. This annual award commemorates the Hetman of Polish Collectors and has been presented since 2000 in a ceremony at the Collector's Museum in Krosniewice. Some of the laureates from outside Poland have been Jan Nowak-Jezioranski (posthumously), Tadeusz Kwiatkowski (posthumously), the Polish Military Collectors' Association in New York, Montresor Castle, France, the Polish Museum in Rappersvill, Switzerland, and Andrzej Ciechanowiecki."
~ DR. JERZY HUCZKOWSKI, Chairman of the Association of the Antique Dealers of Poland, Editor-in-Chief of Gazeta Antykwaryczna and Polish Art & Antiques Magazine, and Chairman of the Jury of the Jerzy Dunin-Borkowski Award for Polish Collectors
