The dramatic story of a desperate struggle for survival by a group of truck drivers locked in a remote mountain base. Living and working in wretched conditions, practically slaves to the timber industry, these brooding men find their ritualized world upset when a woman arrives. Also known as The Damned Roads and Camp of the Dead Men, the film is based on a short story by Polish cult writer Marek Hlasko, and features gritty portrayals of the doomed men by veteran actors Tadeusz Lomnicki (Ashes and Diamonds), Emil Karewicz (Eroica), and Leon Niemczyck (Vabank, Calls Controlled).
