When the buildings of Warsaw's Old Town were first being built, they were private residences. There were space restrictions imposed on the people, and each building could only be 3 windows wide... unless you were from the nobility, of course, in which case your building could be much wider. These three buildings were most likely owned by merchants, or someone of the sort (they were not poor, but they were not royalty, either).
