From Holocaust to New Horizons
Reads like a novel - but is 100% true! A book that educates, entertains, and inspires. It will help you gain a new perspective on the challenges in your life!
Growing up in the protective environment of a loving family, the Warsaw Uprising of World War II proved to be a rude awakening from the innocence of a safe environment.
Through a series of miracles, Mat not only survived but also followed his heart to America. Here he fulfilled his destiny to be a husband, father, scientist and finally in the legacy of his parents, a teacher.
"As his experiences unfold before your imagination, you will wonder how you would have handled each situation, how you would have come through."
—from the Foreword by Joe Goldberg
"Like its title, this memoir captures Sikorski's normal childlike exuberance and innocence that stand in start contrast to the reality of that period. Without sensationalizing the miracle of his survival, Sikorski provides his readers with a real sense of being there."
—Rebecca Rakoczy, Freelance Reporter, The Atlanta Journal and Constitution
"Unlike many adult survivor stories, this book is written from the perspective of an innocent child and is therefore nonjudgmental. No feeling of alienation or perspective on human brutality is expressed, but rather love and appreciation for spiritual guidance and protection. They are always given at just the right moment. This book warrants attention for the uncommon experiences it records and the courage it took to live them."
—Dr. Robert Gutman, President, ICU Services
