"The Real Chopin" - the first recording series published by the Fryderyk Chopin Institute -for the first time in history presents Chopin's complete works on period instruments. The series is very highly valued by the international music critic and it has been already awarded the prestigious Diapason d'Or. Each album was recorded by world-famous Polish and foreign pianist.
The whole series is available not only as separate CDs but also as a complete edition published in one box: collection of 21 albums containing Chopin's compete works with literary introduction written by Bohdan Pociej.
The series is of an open charakter - next albums will be performed by extraordinary artists who will propose their own selection of Chopin's works.
Janusz Olejniczak - laureate of the Chopin Piano Competition in 1970, is one of the greatest Polish pianists of his generation. He is well known not only from concert halls all over the world but also from the cinema: he played the role of Chopin in Andrzej Zulawski's film "La note bleu" and he also recorded the soundtrack to the films "Chopin, pragnienie milosci" (Chopin, desire for love) and "The Pianist" by Roman Polanski.
The album was recorded on two different period instruments from NIFC collection: Erard piano from 1849 and Pleyel piano from 1848.
