"The Real Chopin" - the first recording series published by the Fryderyk Chopin Institute - for the first time in history presents Chopin's complete works on period instruments. The series is very highly valued by the international music critic and has been already awarded the prestigious Diapason d'Or. Each album has been recorded by world-famous Polish and foreign pianists.
The whole series is available not only as separate CDs but also as a complete edition published in one box: collection of 21 albums containing Chopin's compete works with literary introduction written by Bohdan Pociej.
The series is of an open character - next albums will be performed by extraordinary artists who will propose their own selection of Chopin's works.
Dina Yoffe - laureate of the Chopin Piano Competition in 1975, highly valued in the whole world as a soloist and chamber musician. In August 2011 her second album in the Real Chopin series will be published - the album containing recordings made together with her son, pianist Daniel Vayman. For the first time in the whole series, on this album artists will record the Grand Duo Concertant in the version for four hands in the XIXth century version made by Friedrich Mockowitz.
The disc features new recordings of two Chopin Scherzos, Nocturnes, Polonaise in E flat minor, Op. 26 No. 2 and Mazurkas.Recorded in Witold Lutoslawski Polish Radio Concert Studio, Warsaw, 2-22 August 2008.
